Kwame Baffoe, nicknamed Abronye DC, the Bono Regional Chairman for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has openly informed John Dramani Mahama that his daughter Farida Mahama will be a victim of the famed ‘Do or die’ motto he created recently.
John Mahama’s “Do or Die” cry, he claims, incites election violence and should not be tolerated. The fiery Ghanaian politician, whose reputation is built on criticism aimed at political opponents, has urged Ghanaians to denounce Mahama’s address, claiming that it is a prescription for disaster.
While displaying his typical fiery demeanor on Neat FM’s morning program, Abronye FC stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Ghanaians will not entertain any danger of violence in the upcoming general elections, adding that peace is what every Ghanaian deserves in 2024.
He made it clear that whatever John Mahama considers, whether it peace or fire, will be returned to him and his family.
“If they want peace, they will get it. We will give them fire if they ask for it. If Mahama wants calm in the election of 2024, he will have it; if he wants fire, he and his daughter will be the first to experience the wrath of political violence.
“She will be at the polling station as an agent of the NDC. How will you expect someone to risk his or her life when your daughter is there to do the same? And mind you, every political violence starts at the polling station and then escalates. If that happens, she cannot vanish. It can’t be possible. If that do or die happens, she will be a victim,” he elaborated.
Abronye stressed that, while he does not desire for anything terrible to happen to the country, it is in John Mahama’s best interests to withdraw such remarks should he be held responsible if something awful happens.
