“You will go to prison for 5 years if you give fake prophecy on 31st night”- Ghana Police warns Ghanaian Prophets

Ahead of the annual 31st Night Church Services, the Ghana Police Service has issued a statement cautioning religious leaders about doom prophecies.

The 31st Night of the year is when certain prophets of God deliver a long list of predictions for the upcoming year.

The majority of these prophesies are gloomy and depressing, focusing on the deaths of notable figures and impending calamities.

The Ghana Police Service has issued a warning to Prophets ahead of Friday night, under the supervision of IGP George Akuffo Dampare.

The police made it clear in the statement that airing claims intended to instill fear and panic into people is illegal and the law would take on anyone who does that.

Publishing any false information with no proof that has the potential to damage lives is a felony, according to a statement issued by Supt. Alexander Kwaku Obeng.
