“You don’t respect your partner if you cheat on him/her”- Journalist
Ayishatu Zakaria Ali, one of Ghana’s most skilled and professional female sports journalists, has offered her thoughts on what it means to cheat on one’s relationship.
Mercy Bee the Ekumfi Princess hosted Ayishatu on eTV Ghana’s Girl Vibes show to address the topic “Dealing with a Cheating Partner,” in which she stated that anyone who cheats on their partner simply lacks respect for them.
Cheating, according to her definition, is when a person in a relationship entertains another person, talks to them all the time, especially at strange hours, sees them all the time, does not mind being naked with them, and basically does everything they would do if they were in a relationship with them.
“If you respect me, you will not cheat on me,” she said. Anyone that respects you will not intentionally harm or cause you to suffer. It is not just about love; there are people who are in love but are not even together, and you may be so in love with someone that you do not even cheat on them when they treat you badly.
“The truth is that if you do not respect your partner, you will cheat on them because if I respect you, I will value you too highly to want to hurt you.”
She went on to say that if a person loses respect for their relationship, they will do whatever they want regardless of how it impacts their partner’s sentiments because they are unconcerned with their feelings.
