Woman with the Worlds longest fingernails finally cuts them after keeping them for 30 years – Video

The woman who owns the world record for having the longest fingernails has had her nails cut.

Ayanna Williams, of Houston, Texas, broke the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest fingernails in 2017, being almost 19 feet long.

She trimmed her nails for the first time in almost 30 years over the weekend. She weighed it one more time before having them removed, and it was 24 ft, 0.7 in.

Her manicure took three or four bottles of nail polish and more than 20 hours to complete before she cut her nails.

Williams’ nails were trimmed at a dermatology clinic in Fort Worth, Texas, using an automated rotary saw for the first time since the early 1990s.

“With or without my nails, I will still be the queen,” Williams said, according to Guinness. “My nails don’t make me, I make my nails!”

Williams was unable to perform certain tasks due to her long nails, such as cleaning dishes and placing sheets on a bed.

She mentioned that her current mission is to inspire the next nail enthusiast to attempt a Guinness World Records title.

Lee Redmond, who began growing her fingernails in 1979, currently holds the record for the longest female fingernails ever. According to Guinness World Records, they crossed a length of 28 feet before being killed in a car crash in 2009.
