Widow cries to IGP Dampare for help as Police took Ghc 1000 from her and still arrested her grandson for plundering graves at Obuasi
The Obuasi Cemetery Case, which involves a 21-year-old young man, has taken a new turn as the accused’s grandmother, Maame Kessewaa, cries out to IGP Dampare.
Her grandson was taken to court, according to the woman, because she refused to pay a bribe of GH5000. She told Ali Baba Dankabari on Kessben FM about it.
“When my grandson was arrested for allegedly plundering a grave, a police officer approached me and informed me that the case had been dropped. They demanded that I pay them 5000 Ghana cedis. I was able to obtain them 1000 ghana cedis as a poor widow.” Ali Baba Dankabari was recounted by Maame Kessewaa.
“Despite collecting my money, they still took my grandson to court and accused him of the same crime. Because the case against my grandson was contrived, the IGP must assist me “Kessewaa wept.
At Obuasi, the young man was accused of digging a grave and stacking human bones. He is currently in demand by the courts as a forehead.
