Academician John Evans Samuel Mills, Atta Mills’ brother, has said that the former President’s grave had been disturbed.
Koku Anyidoho, the executive director of the Atta Mills Institute, and the Coastal Development Authority have been charged with altering the tomb.
A group of people tried to break into President John Evans Atta Mills’ grave while posing as the Atta Mills Institute and the Coastal Development Authority.
The tomb has been dismantled, and they claim to be rebuilding it, stated Komenda-Edina-Eguafo Abirem, a member of parliament, during a news conference on Tuesday, July 19.
“They have dismantled the tomb and say that they are reconstructing it.”
Then he went on, “My question is, we have a family custom. Is the corpse still in the grave after they’ve made contact with it? Do you know who’s dead? Why are you going to handle the corpse without alerting the leader of the family? Who is in charge here?
There must be a better explanation for why they want us to suffer.” It’s hard to understand why the administration would allow this to happen when this is a former president. “This is a slap in the face of our country and our families.”
About five years ago, Professor John Evans Atta Mills was buried at the Asomdwee Park.
