John Dumelo has been doing a lot for his constituency ever since he made his mind to contest for the Member of Parliament yet he didn’t emerge as the MP-elect.
Notable among his projects was the sharing of free Laptops to facilitate learning in his constituency, Ayawaso West Wuogon – well on the back of his loss, internet sensation Kwadwo Sheldon has called on students in the constituency to return the laptops.
Kwadwo Sheldon made this demand in a simple post on Twitter as he shared photos from the laptop donation the actor did. “Return The Laptops,” he simply wrote.
However, during the time of the tweet, there were no solid facts to confirm the actor had lost but a video of depressed-looking Dumelo which surfaced raised a lot of concern.
Also, a video of Maa Lydia and her team jubilating while results were still being counted surfaced and all pointed out that Dumelo was losing.
Meanwhile, the provisional result has finally come out and it goes in hand with what was initially speculated. Maa Lydian has retained her seat with votes of 39,732 (51.20%) compared to John Dumelo’s 37, 595 (48.46%).
