Two fraudsters engaged in a heated gun battle over the possession of a client they were both defrauding yesterday in Sakasaka township in the northern area.
This is the level of sakawa in Ghana, where school-aged adolescents who want to become billionaires overnight without working will use a gun to murder a colleague over a client they are both stealing from.
One of the men was observed carrying a gun and headed towards the other’s house; a gunshot was heard, and the residents began screaming.
Members of the community fled and creamed as a result of the gunfire. Children and elders both are attempting to avoid being hit by stray gunshots.
This is the time for parents to pay close attention to their children’s sources of money. Some of these young men will begin driving Toyota Corollas with no one knowing what they do for a living. When they don’t succeed in scamming, they rob mobile money sellers and petrol stations in town using the same firearms. It’s a real shame.
These same Sakawa lads end up on our highways robbing people of their belongings.
