Video: Meet the beautiful 8-year-old girl born without eyes but sees with her hands
Monroe, an 8-year-old child who has lost the use of her eyes, claims to see with her hands.
The young girl was born without eyes and suffers from a rare illness that affects one in every 10,000 people worldwide.
Monroe has learned to play the piano and can even perform housework despite her physical limitations.
Glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, Retinopathy, and Retinitis Pigmentosa are all disorders that can cause a person to lose their sight, according to Blindinc.
There are also others who are born with their eyes in the correct position but are unable to see. This is not the case, however, with Monroe, a little girl.
Monroe was born blind and wore a prosthetic.
Monroe was born with only one eye. That is to say, she was born with empty eye sockets.
The small girl has been able to learn to do domestic duties and play the piano with the support of her loving mother, Heaven.
Monroe said she sees with her hands in the absence of her sight in a video released on Facebook by Born Different.
Prosthetics have been placed in the eyes of the lively little girl.
Monroe was born with bilateral anophthalmia, a disorder that affects both eyes. The illness is extremely rare, occurring in only around 1 in 10,000 people.
