Video: ‘I’m suffering from depression, I don’t want to die’ – Police officer cries out
In a video that has now gone viral, a police officer spoke openly about his mental health.
In the video, he names himself as Marsabit-based police officer Kiprotich Rop, and then goes on to say that he is suffering from depression and “does not want to die.”
According to Rop: “I’d want to confess something: I’ve been depressed for a long time, and I’ve attempted suicide. Nobody wants to listen to me, or help me; I’m very, truly depressed. I’m asking everyone who can assist me in overcoming my sadness to please do so.”
“Suicidal thoughts have plagued me on countless occasions, and I’m still feeling that way today… “Please help me, I don’t want to die,” he said, “I’ve been trying to kill myself.” My partner is expecting a child. I don’t want to abandon them; please assist me; I am in great distress.”
“I haven’t slept in five days, please help me, I’m willing to be helped,” he concluded.
