It is difficult, to be honest in a nation as severe as Ghana, but a taxi driver did just that, earning the appreciation of a fish vendor for life.
The honest taxi driver, who is perhaps Ghana’s last honest guy, returned Ghc 8,000 to a trader who had left it in his cab.
The woman burst into tears and overwhelmed him with appreciation the minute he returned her money.
The woman, according to accounts, sells fish in Accra’s Mallam Atta Marke. She got into a taxi with the money in her pocket, most likely from a day of selling.
As she exited the vehicle, the woman realized she had forgotten her money.
She was worried because she felt the money was gone forever. Losing that money, based on her emotions, would have had disastrous implications for her life.
Given how tough it is to live in Ghana, expecting anyone who discovers the money to return it honestly is unrealistic
After getting the money, the woman broke down in tears, expressing her relief.
