(Video) First-Class Graduate of University of Ghana Turns Hairdresser after Years of Being Jobless
Theresah Adusei has struggled to find work after receiving a first-class degree in Information Studies and Psychology from the University of Ghana.
She made herself and her family happy by graduating from university with honors in 2019, but her ambition of landing the ideal career has dimmed.
Adusei said in an interview with Joy Prime that she began looking for work when she was ready to finish her national service.
”I started a job hunt, but you send CVs you don’t get feedback,” she told Joy Prime.
Adusei made frantic appeals to many powerful individuals, including her pastor, to assist her in finding a suitable career, but her attempts were futile.
After years of searching for work with little success, the first-class graduate decided to convert her interest into a company and now works as a hairdresser to support herself and her siblings.
“When I was in university, I used to style my own hair and I used to style for my housemates,” Adusei recounted. They assisted me in discovering that skill.”
Not everyone supported Adusei’s desire to pursue the profession, including her mother’s initial opposition, but the ambitious lady is making progress.
It’s been six months since the first-class graduate, with the help of her father and a few close friends, built a container saloon.
