Video: Couple serves ‘Gari soakings’ and groundnut at their wedding reception to guests

Instead of the usual fried rice and other dishes served at other wedding receptions, a couple has decided to alter the traditional setting by serving “gari soakings” at their wedding reception.

A group of well-dressed guests was seen sitting around a table eating bowls of gari and groundnut in a viral video of wedding excerpts.

It is unclear whether this new addition of food served at their wedding reception is a ruse to gain social media attention or if the couple truly stayed within their budget and could only afford the ‘gari soakings.’

Gari Soaking is a popular Ghanaian dessert made with gari.  It is made by soaking gari in water or milk with a little sugar and groundnut, as the name suggests.
