In a recent development, it has been revealed that the daughter of the Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) was not shot as earlier speculated by various online media portals and outlets. This new finding was disclosed in a Facebook post by Erastus Asare Donkor.
According to the post, the Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Akua Serwaa Kyei, a female adult who tragically passed away on the 3rd of August, 2023, at Atwima Bebu in the Ashanti Region.
The husband of the deceased informed authorities that he returned home at around 5:30 pm on that fateful day and discovered his wife lying unconscious at the back of their house. He promptly rushed her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. He also mentioned that their living room and bedroom had been ransacked, with a television set missing.
However, a preliminary assessment of the crime scene by the Police Crime Scene team revealed no signs of forced entry through doors or windows in the house. Furthermore, upon inspecting the deceased’s body at the hospital, no signs of violence or gunshot wounds were found. As a result, the body has been transferred to the morgue for preservation and autopsy, while the investigation continues.
The Police have already visited the family of the deceased and are collaborating closely with them to uncover the truth and bring the culprits to justice. The Inspector-General of Police has also personally reached out to the family via telephone, assuring them of a thorough investigation into the case. Additionally, a Police clinical psychologist has been assigned to the family to provide support during this difficult period.
