A well-known hotelier named Emekeme Joseph, often known as Semikolo, tragically lost his life in a Delta State event when his own kids attacked him viciously.
The issue started when his kids, who had just received their diplomas from a prestigious institution, learned about their father’s purported liaison with another lady. Outraged by their finding, they threatened to tell their mother, who was on vacation in the United States and demanded a payment of one million naira.
Joseph kept his ground and called their bluff instead of caving into their demands. Nevertheless, this choice resulted in his boys telling their mother about the relationship, which deeply infuriated her. The father went to his wife’s office the next day, but when he arrived, his sons confronted him and escorted him out.
The boys were furious with their father for what he had done and when they got home, they attacked him violently and even hurt a police officer who tried to help. When Joseph was taken to the hospital, the sons were quickly arrested by the authorities. His health quickly worsened despite efforts to rescue him, prompting his transfer to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.
Joseph’s wife unexpectedly managed to gain her boys’ release from police custody after swiftly returning to the nation. She carried her unconscious spouse home after releasing him from the hospital against medical advice. Joseph tragically lost dead in his Ugbeyiyi house.
The fact that Joseph’s wife gave his friends false information, stating they were in Lagos, added to the misery of the circumstance. Following this tragic event, it has come to light that Joseph’s wife changed her name on her social media profiles, going back to using her maiden name and leaving out her husband’s name.
