Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has finally forgiven her ex-husband who was the son of former politician Olakunle Churchill. Tonto Dikeh who suffered in her abusive marriage with the Saif husband has decided to open her emotional wounds and let all slide.
She has in an interview with journalists Dele Momoduo reveals the reason she decided to forgive her ex-husband and according to her, she has finally come to terms with the fact that their failed marriage brought forth a don so there is no need to hold anything against her ex-husband.
“A man I love and respect always talked to me about forgiveness and I have come to realize that forgiveness is not about the nest person. I knew that forgiveness is not about the nest person but the explanation I got recently really wowed me,” said Tonto Dikeh on an Instagram live with journalists Dele Momoduo.
It says I have forgiven you not because you have to be forgiven, I have forgiven you because I do not want to put myself in a place of Stagnation when it comes to growth, I do not want to put myself in a place of stagnation when it comes to love, I don’t want to put myself in a place of warship, progressing, my career.
“Forgiveness is a whole lot and I only just realized that the Bible says that if we do not forgive, God cannot forgive us. All these things are in the bible but it never really made an impact on me until someone really explained it. So today I would tell you that for me it comes really easy. I forgive a lot but I just don’t like to get provoked by the things that you do after it. I think forgiveness is essential for one’s growth”
