Andrea Owusu, better known as Efia Odo, a Ghanaian model, and actress, has stated that she will be taking a sabbatical from her involvement with the famous #FixTheCountry movement.
Efia Odo shared the sad news on her Instagram page and urged her friends and followers to be patient with her. Her mental health was being affected by her engagement with the #FixTheCountry organization, she claimed, and she wanted to take a vacation.
Her aspirations for the country were as pure as gold, she said, but the country’s recent events have become too much for her to stomach.
Efia Odo went on to add that she was not politically active, but that her love for the country and mankind had changed.
She did, however, disable the comment area to discourage others from weighing in on her decision. Efia Odo has been a key figure in the #FixTheCountry campaign, which began a few months ago with the goal of persuading Ghana’s leaders to behave responsibly and address issues that affect Ghanaians.
Efia Odo posted;
“I will like to take this time to let you know that I’m going on a Hiatus. My mental health is stale at the moment. My love for this country and humanity has turned into something I am not, political. I am of peace and equality. My heart and intentions are as pure as gold. Things are too heavy for me right now. Take care.”
Her action resulted in her detention, along with about 15 other individuals, who were observed protesting outside an Accra High Court a few weeks ago. They were, however, freed hours after being apprehended by gun-wielding cops on the court grounds.
