Sergeant Eric Okyere Agyapong, a physical training instructor at the Northern Military Command Headquarters, was at a mechanic shop where the suspect was working when the daring incident occurred.

A report filed by Starrfmonline.com stated that the suspect suddenly jumped into the soldier’s car while he was on his way to fix the faulty vehicle and fled the scene.

Afterward, the soldier hired a taxi and gave the suspect a high-speed chase through the streets.

When the suspect reached the Suhyen to Jumapo stretch of the Bunso to Koforidua highway, he was speeding and collided with another vehicle, which resulted in his arrest.

As a result, the soldier called for help, which was responded to by local youth and police from a nearby checkpoint, but the suspect resisted arrest and managed to flee.

The suspect was pepper-sprayed and beaten several times before being overpowered, arrested, and taken to the Jumapo Police Station.

He later identified himself as Nana Agyemang, after initially refusing to reveal his identity to the police.

He was transferred to the Akyem Tafo District Police Command, treated, and discharged at the New Tafo Akim Government Hospital.
