They lied, He is a Soldier: Photos proving the military man involved in an armed robbery is a soldier surface

Despite claims by the Ghana Armed Forces Public Relations Department that no military officer was involved in the robbery at Buipe near Tamale in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region, pictures show suspect Mustapha Mohammed could have been a soldier.

Mustapha Mohammed has been photographed with his military colleagues, ostensibly preparing for an operation, with a brass band and other personnel in the background.

Another image shows him in a Burma-style barracks, with the Ghana Armed Forces Staff bus in the distance.

That the suspect Armed Robber had access to the military would be a huge embarrassment if Mustapha Mohammed was not a soldier as claimed.

Why would the Ghana Armed Forces deny one of their own after a reported armed robbery?

Mustapha Mohammed, an alleged Burma Camp soldier, was arrested with four other suspects for allegedly stealing a 2012 Toyota Camry from its owner at gunpoint. He wore a full uniform but no beret.

More military and police uniforms were found, as well as various forms of identification cards that referenced Burma DI 3 before police included it in the situational report.

Recall that the Acting Director of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces, Commander Andy La-Anyane, said the suspect was not a soldier of the Ghana Armed Forces and expressed concern about the increasing number of civilian impersonations.

“Several videos and pictures of the arrest of a car snatching syndicate at Buipe allegedly attacked and snatched a victim’s car in Tamale have been circulated on social media. He is seen in the videos and pictures wearing a military camouflage uniform and is described as a soldier of the Ghana Armed Forces. ”

“We want to state categorically that the suspect is not a Ghanaian soldier. “The Armed Forces are concerned about the increasing number of civilians impersonating military officers and defrauding innocent Ghanaians,” he added.

The Northern Regional Police in Tamale arrested a five-man robbery gang at the Burma Camp in Accra.

Vivor Christopher, 27, a phone repairer, and Ibrahim Issah, 27, an Accra contractor.

They are Benjamin Agyei, 23, a mobile money vendor from Accra, and Seyram Addo, 29, a plumber from Danfa, near Madina.

The suspects allegedly robbed a 2020 Toyota Camry and other items from its owner’s home before fleeing.

On January 23, 2022, the police received information about an attack and robbery by suspects who fled towards Buipe.

As a result, the Buipe Highway Patrol Team on duty at the Sawaba Police checkpoint on the Buipe – Tamale highway was alerted and arrested the suspects in two vehicles with registration numbers AS8445-19 and GX6923-20.

Twelve different mobile phones, one Falcon Foreign Pistol, two handcuff keys, two voter’s ID cards, Melcom card, Access Bankcard, and GHC21.20p were seized from the suspects.

Other items found in the Toyota Camry Spider with GX6923-20 included military uniforms, police ballistic helmets, and police uniforms.
