Amid the outpouring of birthday wishes from celebrities and friends, Israel took a moment to reflect on one of the most harrowing experiences of his life, a kidnapping ordeal in 2001.
Israel, while expressing gratitude for his life, revealed the chilling details of his kidnapping experience. He and three other individuals were kidnapped while on a journey from Lagos to Ibadan. According to him, they were lured into a vehicle and taken to a dense forest by their abductors.
In a surprising twist, Israel was set free by the kidnappers who claimed that he was a ‘bad market’, implying that his strong will and resilience made him unsuitable for their ritualistic intentions. They returned him to freedom with an additional N200 to the N40 he already had, to facilitate his transportation.
In a social media post, Israel wrote: “Four of us were kidnapped for rituals in 2001, on our way from Lagos to Ibadan… I was the only one allowed to go, saying I was a very bad market. They gave me 200 to add to the already 40 Naira with me for transportation. I just give glory to God Almighty.”
