“The money Despite used to buy the bugatti can buy the whole of kumasi”- Twene Jonas
Twene Jonas, Ghana’s online sensation, is back on Instagram this week – as usual – to rant and spit venom on politicians while reacting to the e-levy controversy.
Since the government proposed the electronic transaction tax in last year’s budget for 2022 through the Ministry of Finance, e-levy has become a hot topic in Ghana.
Many Ghanaians have expressed their unhappiness since the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, revealed the government’s decision to implement the electronic transaction levy.
Many people have resorted to social media to condemn the action and have termed the policy as robbing the common Ghanaian of his little earnings.
Twene Jonas, in response to the continuing e-levy controversy, pounced on the government and questioned why the government would put such a tax on market women who don’t make much money from their modest trade.
He quickly moved to praise Osei Kwame Despite for purchasing the most recent Bugatti, which cost $3 million.
According to him, $3 million can buy Kumasi since Chairman Wontumi and Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu have ruined the city.
He also blamed the Asantehene Otumfour for enabling politicians to demolish Kumasi, which was once Africa’s most popular and attractive city.
Kumasi acquired the nickname “Garden City” because of its beauty, however that beauty has faded with time.
