The elder brother of Kwaku Adu Gyamfi, a 22-year-old KNUST student whose life was taken away by a friend in a Kumasi suburb, has revealed the incident that led to his brother’s murder.
In a conversation with an Instagram blogger, Adu Gyamfi’s elder brother, Kwadwo Asamoah Agyapong, who is also a KNUST student, said he called his mother on the day in question to ask for money.
His mother, on the other hand, advised him to wait for his brother to return so he could give the money, but when he did not return for an extended period of time, the mother became concerned, until she learned later that day that her son had been discovered dead in a farm.
They informed the Feyiase police, who accompanied them to the crime scene to photograph it.
A young girl in the neighborhood told the police that she had seen Emmanuel Boateng, the now-arrested friend, running home from the same farm where Adu Gyamfi was found dead.
He was apprehended but first denied knowledge of the crime, only later confessing after a lengthy interrogation.
According to a Graphic Online report, the suspect allegedly took the now deceased companion into a jungle near Sewua, where he was allegedly clubbed to death and his cellphone stolen (iPhone 11 pro max).
He owed the deceased money, so he enticed him to the farm by claiming he wanted to photograph the land.
He told the deceased that he needed to go to nature’s call and that he should sit and wait for him after snapping the images.
