“The boy who cut off my hand has been set free” – Young girl cries out

Josephine, an eighteen-year-old girl living with her parents in a community in Ghana’s Ashanti Region, was not having a good day.

When Josephine received the bad news, she was having a good time with her friends.

She was assigned to cook for her friends who worked on a farm in the neighborhood.

They asked her to add oranges to the dinner once she presented it to them, but Josephine could not help herself.

A misunderstanding arose between Josephine and another adolescent named Joe as a result of the situation.

Josephine drew a knife on Joe during the altercation, causing a slight cut on his hand.

They had settled the problem and were on their way to their separate homes, believing the problem had been fixed until Joe decided to fight back.

He took up a machete and, to his amazement, cut Josephine’s left hand off at the wrist.

She was taken to a hospital, but there was nothing that could be done. She has lost one of her hands as a result of the altercation she had with Joe.

The tragic part of the situation is that the suspect was apprehended by the police but afterward released back into the community.

Since then, the matter has hung in the balance in court, with no possibility of the suspect being punished.

As a free person, he continues to move his shoulders around in the community, and justice has not been served.

Georgina Antwi, Josephine’s mother, claims that the case has been hanging in the air with no sign that her daughter will be given justice.

It is unclear why the suspect is still roaming the same neighborhood after committing such a heinous murder.
