Terry Bradshaw Wiki

Terry Paxton Bradshaw (born September 2, 1948) is a retired American football quarterback who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He has been a television sports analyst and co-host of Fox NFL Sunday since 1994. Bradshaw is also a recording artist and actor, having appeared in several television shows (mostly as himself) and films, most notably co-starring in the film Failure to Launch and releasing several country music albums.

Bradshaw was born in 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana. His father, William Marvin “Bill” Bradshaw (1927-2014), was a native of Sparta, Tennessee, and a former vice president of manufacturing for the Riley Beaird Company in Shreveport. He was also a Southern Baptist layman. Novis Gay (born 1929) was one of five children born to Clifford and Lula Gay of Red River Parish, Louisiana. Gary is his older brother, and Craig is his younger brother.

Bradshaw chose Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. He is a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and has a strong connection to his alma mater. Initially, he was second in the quarterback depth chart behind Phil “Roxie” Robertson, who later became famous as the inventor of the Duck Commander duck call and TV personality on the A&E show Duck Dynasty.

Bradshaw was the first overall pick in the 1970 NFL Draft, chosen by the Pittsburgh Steelers, who had won a coin flip tiebreaker with the Chicago Bears due to the teams having identical 1-13 records in 1969. Bradshaw was widely regarded as the consensus number-one pick at the time.

After splitting time with Terry Hanratty in his rookie season, Bradshaw became a starter in his second season. During his first few seasons, the 6’3″ 215-pound quarterback was erratic and threw a lot of interceptions (he threw 210 interceptions in his career), and he was widely mocked by the media for his rural roots and perceived lack of intelligence.

Terry Bradshaw ex-wives

Since 1972, Terry Bradshaw has been married four times.

In 1969, Melissa Babish was Miss Teenage America when she met Bradshaw.

Three years later, they married, but their marriage lasted only 18 months before they divorced.

Bradshaw met Olympic figure skater Jojo Starbuck while recovering from his failed marriage.

They became officially engaged the following month, married on June 6, 1976, and divorced in 1983.

Bradshaw married attorney Charlotte Hopkins three years after his divorce from Starbuck was finalized.

They dated for four years before breaking up and reuniting after his divorce from Starbuck.

He and Hopkins were married for 15 years, and he compared it to his first two marriages, saying they never crossed his mind.

Bradshaw and Hopkins’ marriage did not last, and they divorced in 1999.

In 2004, Bradshaw told USA Today that his divorce from Hopkins had left him “broken” and unable to “bounce back.”

He described himself as “angry, bitter, hateful, and mean-spirited,” with frequent anxiety attacks and weight loss.

“I fought her for 13 years, and to her credit, she never once asked, ‘Where’s this going?'”

“I passed her in the hallway and said, ‘Oh listen, we’re getting married Tuesday in Hawaii,'” Bradshaw told the outlet in 2014. We continued after she said, ‘OK.’

When we arrived, she told us, ‘If you’re serious, we need to get a license.’ So we obtained one. I’d already contacted my pastor. It was great fun!”

Bradshaw stated that prior to the proposal, he had gone to counseling and discovered that all of his ex-wives were the same.

“And it wasn’t very good!” he exclaimed. “I married my best friend this time.” “Everybody should!”
