The kidnappers of a 9-month pregnant woman who has gone missing are demanding a ransom from her family.
After leaving her home at around 5 a.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2020, for a usual stroll, Josephine Simons was reported missing the following morning, Thursday, September 16, 2020.
After a fruitless search for her, her husband reported her missing to the local police department for further investigation.
According to Asaase News, the husband claims that some persons have called the mother and demanded a ransom in return for the woman who is pregnant with his child.
“They called and gave the phone to her to talk to her mother to make some demands. We wanted to know what they want, but we’ve lost contact since then. So, we’ve informed the police about it,” the husband said.
DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adeku, spokeswoman for the Takoradi Police Department, has assured the public that the department is doing all in its power to save Josephine Simons.
