Takoradi Lady Who Faked pregnancy and her Kidnapping For Money Sentenced To 6 Years in prison
Joana Krah, 29, was sentenced to six years in prison for impersonating a kidnapping in order to extort money from her family.
The woman who was apprehended after her plot failed stated that she staged the kidnapping on Friday, October 22, 2021, in order to obtain GH5,000 from a relative but was apprehended instead.
Joana was alleged to have been accused with misleading a public officer and publishing false news, which resulted in a six-year prison sentence from the judge hearing the case.
On Monday, October 25, 2021, the Takoradi Habour Circuit Court A, presided over by his honor Michael Kwodjoe Ampoadu, issued their final decision after Joana’s relative reported the fake kidnapping to the police, prompting Joana to come out and confess that she fabricated her captivity.
Joana, who was accused of conspiring with two individuals – Susan Awortwe and Francis Eshun – to stage her kidnapping, was not taken to court with her.
