Young and popular Ghanaian striker, Mohammed Kudus fails to deserve all of Ghana’s praise, particularly from the media, according to Ghanaian critic Bongo Ideas.
Due to his tremendous efforts for both the club and the nation, Kudus is currently the most prominent Black Stars player.
Both for his club Ajax, where he has scored 20 goals this season across all competitions, and during the Qatar World Cup when the 24-year-old midfielder scored two goals, the player showcased his potential.
But according to Bongo Ideas, who always seems to find someone to criticize, Kudus isn’t remarkable enough to deserve Ghanaians’ admiration because the nation has produced players who fare better than him. He made this claim in a Twitter thread.
The Ajax midfielder, in his opinion, lacks the necessary skills to compete on the same level as former Black Stars players like Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Laryea Kingston, Tony Yeboah, and Abedi Pele when they were active.
“Can someone tell me what makes Mohammed Kudus so special that y’all give him all this much undue national hype & attention?
“Is he the only Black Stars player, or the single best thing to happen to our football or a special breed of a player that we’ve never seen before?
“If you’ve witnessed the skills, panache, and dexterity of the likes of Stephen Appiah, Laryea Kingson, Tony Yeboah, Abedi Pele, and even Michael Essien, you wouldn’t be so much impressed.
“Bruh, mediocrity aside, there’s nothing so extraordinarily special about him!
