Stephanie Benson, a Ghanaian international singer, and performer based in the UK, has shared insights on her lasting marriage.
The celebrated singer is wed to John Benson, and the two have been together for 33 years and counting.
Mrs. Benson stated that communication and trust have been the main elements that have kept her marriage strong in an interview on Ameyaw TV monitored by Bestshowbiz.com.
She claims that because of her extremely successful singing career, she has made it a point to be approachable and occasionally invites her husband to her concerts.
‘‘Communication is the one thing that has kept us going because whatever it is I am doing, I will talk to him about it,’’ she said.
Mrs. Benson continued: ‘‘Sometimes I have invited him to the events that I have done for these billionaires and John is not intimidated by anybody because he is okay himself and also he knows I love him, he knows money has never been my motivation and some of these people have come on to me, some crazy scenarios and he knows, and he is just chilled, he just lay back,’’ she disclosed.
She came to the conclusion that another important element in making a relationship continue for a long time is having trust in your partner.
‘‘I just think trust is everything, you have to trust each other, you can’t think about what somebody else is thinking about your wife or you because you are the one going to lose, if your wife knows that you treat her well that you make her feel good and she makes you feel good, what are you worrying about.
‘‘Even before I leave the house and I wear something, I show it to him, what do think and he is like it looks good,’’ she mentioned.
