In a lengthy essay, Kumawood actress Vivian Jill describes how some of her employees have tried to undermine the food business she has worked so hard to start from scratch with her own money.

Apart from our oil, gold,timber and other natural resources that contributes to the employment and growth of our economy, there are other variables that also holds the economy in terms of providing employment.
A lot of businesses are collapsing as a result of the bad behaviors exhibited by employees and some employers too. Trust issues is a problem here in Ghana. Yen nka nokware baako sei! (We don’t tell the truth at all)
I juxtapose this to a media encounter Vivian Jill Lawrence of Abrewa Mafia skits and a great actress, had with Hammer Nti on Pure FM in Kumasi about how the people she employed in her catering business, sabotaged her. Some of the modus operandi used by her workers, were pure wickedness, envy and evil!
They pocketed some of the daily sales, made sure that some of the means were not well cooked, added plenty salt to the cooked foods, intentionally asked people whom they know and have planned with to come and buy say 10 cedis worth of rice and gave them 50 cedis as change, doubled or quadrupled quantities of foods sold to accomplices, bringing in their own drinks to sell and leaving her own etc. Dispatch motorbike riders could also delay and intentionally miss their way out when going to deliver foods ordered.
We the same people complain of unemployment. In fact, I felt sorry for her and I think, it is not peculiar to her alone. A lot of caterers I think, are on the same pedestal. Some taxi, Uber, Bolt, trotro, bus and haulage drivers, are stealing and sabotaging their car owners making some people fear to invest in those sectors and create employment.
A charge to keep we have. Let’s be truthful kakra! Thieves and saboteurs unnoticed!
