Some NPP Supporters Feared Injured Or Dead After Chairman Wontumi’s Car Run Over Them During Celebrations (watch video)
An event occurred at the NPP Delegates’ Conference in Kumasi that nearly converted Bernard Antwi Boasiako, nicknamed Chairman Wontumi’s happiness into grief.
Chairman Wontumi was re-elected for the third time as the governing New Patriotic Party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, defeating his opponent by a landslide.
In a celebratory mood, Chairman Wontumi lost control of his car and collided with some supporters at the NPP delegates’ meeting.
On Saturday, May 28, 2022, he was recorded standing in the sunroof of his car, waving to his fans assembled at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Wontumi tried to get back into his car, only to lose control and collide with supporters, forcing them to escape for their lives.
There were no casualties reported at the incident, although some fans are said to have been injured.
