Leleti Khumalo played the lead in this thrilling film, which was released in 1992. She used to be a lovely young lady with gleaming dark skin, but years after the film, her skin turned white.
There is no doubt that the lady in the photos on this page is Sarafina, as she is portrayed in the film. However, she has changed so drastically that it is difficult to recognize her face.

Sarafina’s real name is Leleti Khumalo, and she was not born with this skin tone and has never bleached it. She was a brown-skinned girl with no white skin when she was born. She had vitiligo, a condition that many people are unaware of.
Vitiligo is defined as an auto-immune disease that is highly infectious and dangerous to the skin. There is currently no cure for Vitiligo. It causes the affected area to turn white and can affect the skin, eyes, mouth, hands, and, in some cases, the entire body.
Unfortunately, Sarafina is going through this right now, and she is now white-skinned rather than black-skinned as a result of her body being ravaged by this condition.
What she looks like now that her skin has turned white:
Vitiligo occurs when pigment-producing cells die and pigment production ceases. When this happens, the skin gradually whitens and cannot be cured again.
Leleti stated that when she was 18 years old, the first thing that happened to her was that her leg began to turn white and she began to see white spots on her leg.
Because she wasn’t worried about the disease at the time, it wasn’t painful.
She later married and had triplets, but one died, leaving her with only two kids.
