‘Show me your office and I will return all the trophies you gave me’ – Blakk Rasta tells RTP Awards CEO
Blakk Rasta has made public his decision to return every trophy that has been bestowed to him during his tenure as a recipient of the RTP Awards.
According to sources, Prince Mackay, CEO of the RTP Awards, asked the radio host to return all the plaques he had won in different editions because Mackay doesn’t believe in a “vote to win” method and doesn’t think the awards should be given out in the first place.
In a video that was uploaded to Instagram, Blakk Rasta said that Mackay had once suggested that he was suffering since he wasn’t receiving any awards.
“I heard the CEO of RTP Awards, my very good friend, Mackay, says he wants to collapse the award.
“Well, Mackay with all respect and with all love. You know that I will never do anything to destroy anything positive that you have started, with all respect Mackay, the thing that you said maybe you said them out of anger.“
“You said if I don’t want you to nominate me anymore, I should bring back the award you gave me, wait I am bringing them to you. Show me where your office is, and I will make sure you get all of them. These are all of them,” he said.
According to Blakk Rasta, one of the trophies he received in the past is broken, but the fixing wouldn’t be needed since he will be returning all of them anyhow.
“Remember I told you earlier several years ago that the pole that was holding this one got broken, it was the only one that I had and you promised to replace them. Now you wouldn’t need to replace it. I am returning everything. It’s a matter of principles.”
Blakk Rasta, however, seized the moment to heap praises on himself. He stated categorically that he is the “the best Reggae man on the radio whether you like it or not, I don’t need any endorsement. The fans have already endorsed me, time and again.”
