The Ghanaian entertainment industry has been criticized for being unjust to its veterans in their old age.
At a time when they should be living comfortably, they find themselves helpless and with nothing to do.
Many of the actors who were popular in the past have often fallen into poverty as they have gotten older.
They are reduced to begging in order to survive, or they die begging after suffering from a variety of ailments associated with old age.
- TT: Was born Psalm Adjeteyfio, TT, passed away on April 8, 2022. He rose to fame with the Taxi Driver television series in the early 2000s, but he became impoverished in his later years. While still alive, the veteran actor blamed his poverty on neglecting his children and pursuing another woman whom he later referred to as a “demon.”

- Kohwe: Kohwe died tragically in September after living in abject poverty. He fought a stroke for a while before finally giving up. Before his death, Kohwe was said to be receiving financial assistance as well as provisions from former President John Mahama.
