Sarkodie heavily trolled for receiving an alleged ‘fake’ UN award
BET award-winning rapper Sarkodie is currently on a hot seat after his recent award that claimed to be in association with the UN turned out to be fake – and social media trolls have decided not to let this slide.
Recently, many top celebrities in Ghana popped on the headlines after they were honored at the 2020 Global Leadership Service to Humanity Awards in Accra on 28 August.
This year’s section of wards drew a link between itself, the United Nations, and the late Kofi Anan – as those who were honored were given plaques with “UN Kofi Annan Excellence Awards” on them.
Sarkodie happened to be one of many who received the UN Kofi Annan Global Excellence in Leadership Award. “A great honor to receive the seventh Global Leadership Service to Humanity Award,” He said on Instagram after being honored. “RIP to a great son of the land, Mr. Kofi Annan. Your legacy is still alive.”
Meanwhile, Report coming through has it that, the award has nothing to do with the UN and or Dr. Kofi Annan, and that the UN has dissociated itself from the scheme.
With this, the award-winning rapper is been roasted on Twitter for what many says he has fallen for a scam.
