Sad: See how Kotoko player Godfred Yeboah was laid in state at his funeral
Over the weekend, celebrated footballer Godfred Yeboah, also known as TV3, was laid to rest in a strange and unusual ceremony.
Godfred was a Ghanaian footballer who played as a defender in the professional league. He died on August 3, 2021, after a long battle with illness.
He was 41 years old at the time.
Thousands of people gathered to pay their respects to him at his funeral.
The solemn ceremony took place in Fiapre in Sunyani, Bono Region, on Saturday, September 18, 2021.
This comes after his death on Tuesday, August 3rd.
He was buried in a soccer boot-shaped coffin draped in the white and red colors of Asante Kotoko, the football club where he rose to prominence.
The coffin’s shape was a homage to his remarkable showmanship and performance on the field of play.
The Ghana flag and the emblem of Accra-based TV3 were also embossed on the coffin.
His grave was also sculpted with the letters ‘TV3′.
