He is reported to have passed away today. The exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
He passed away at the age of 76.
Nana Kwame Ampadu was a household name not only in Ghana but throughout the world. His style of music is well-liked by everyone, including children and adults.
Originally from Eastern Region, the Obo-Kwahu songwriter and musician composed and recorded songs on a variety of topics such as money, love and marriage, good citizenship, greed, inebriation, death, road etiquette for commercial drivers, effective parenting, social stratification, and virtually every aspect of our existence in this country.
Songs such as Ebi Ti Yie, Aku Sika, Kofi Nkrabea, Obia Ba Nnye, Woyoo Woyoo, Mother, Mentumi Ngyae Wo, Aye Se Ye Do Wo, Obra, Drivers, Anibere Nnye, Oman Bo Adwo, Kwaata, and many others were popular at various points in history.
