After a brief illness, Dag Heward-Mills, the embattled Lighthouse chapel leader, lost his eldest son, Dr David Heward-Mills.
On Good Friday, April 15th, 2022, Dr. David Heward-Mills died in the United States.
He was 31 years old.
He is Bishop Dag’s eldest son and a medical doctor in America.
The sad news of his death sparked many reactions on social media.
The church issued a statement in response to Dr. David’s untimely death.
“It is with deep regret and great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing away of David Heward-Mills, after a short illness.
The church asked that the public respect the mourning family’s privacy at this time.
“We, also as a church, are heartbroken, however, we stand with our leader and his family and believe that God will comfort and see us through this very difficult season.”
“Please respect their privacy during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course,” the statement added.
Who is David Heward-Mills, and what does he do?
Bishop Dag-Heward Mills, founder and leader of the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC), previously Lighthouse Chapel, had a son named David Heward-Mills.
For almost two years, he served as a resident physician at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina.
David also worked at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston as a Research Physician.
