On February 18, 2023, the Turkish earthquake claimed the life of Christian Atsu Twasam.
Even though he occasionally played as an attacking midfielder, he was known as a Ghanaian professional football player who primarily played as a winger.
Twasam disappeared on February 6, 2023, shortly after the devastating Turkey-Syria earthquake; he was thought to be among those who were buried under the debris of Hatayspor’s Antakya headquarters at the time.
His agent received word on February 18 that his body had been removed from the rubble of the residence he was residing in.
On Friday, Christian Atsu Twasam goes home. The former Newcastle player’s final rites of passage will take place in the State House’s forecourt.
His obituary has been made public as people prepare for his funeral.
