Residents on the run after beating a 48-year-old man to death

A 48-year-old man named Samuel Anokye was beaten to death in Bima, a town in the Ashanti region’s Asante Akyem North District.

At around 9: 30 p.m., the deceased was beaten to death, and the residents who beat up Samuel fled. The deceased was taken to Agogo Presbyterian Hospital and pronounced dead.

Samuel died as a result of a lack of oxygen, according to Dr. Frank Amadu. Because of the severe beatings, oxygen could not reach the victims’ brains, causing his cells to be damaged and ultimately leading to his death.

According to an eyewitness, the resident who beat up Samuel covered his face with a polythene bag, preventing him from breathing properly.

She claimed that Samuel had been beaten by an armed robber at first. However, when he called for assistance, the armed robber fled, and they mistook him for a thief.

He kept telling them he wasn’t a thief, but they didn’t listen and continued to beat him. They later went for a polythene bag and tightly wrapped it around his head.

This suffocated his breathing, resulting in his death. Samuel had no weapon and no stolen goods on him, but he was mistaken for an armed robber and beaten to death.

Samuel was initially taken to Juansa Hospital before being transferred to Agogo Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Benedicta revealed to the police the identities of the five men who assaulted Samuel.

She stated that they are all Bima residents who are believed to be hiding in the Bima Forest Reserve. Benedicta identified the five suspects as Kwame Addo, Boateng Nhyira, Kofi Awuni, Frank Marveh, and Isaac Dunno.

The police have launched a thorough investigation to apprehend these five men and bring them to justice.
