pure water price to be increased to 40 pesewas on monday

According to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP), its members should raise the prices of their products in order to compete.

A press announcement issued by the National President of the Association, Magnus Nunoo, stated that sachet water would be sold for 40pesewas and that bottled water, which had previously been sold for GHC1.00, would now be sold for GHC1.50 every 500ml bottle.

It is anticipated that the revised pricing will take effect on Monday, December 27, 2021.

750ml or medium size bottled water should be sold for GHC2.00, while 500ml bottled water should be sold for GHC1.50, according to the proposal. “The 1.5L or big bottled water will be offered for GHS3.50,” according to several sections in the statement.

According to the Association, “iced sachet water will be retailed at 40peswas.” A bag of sachet water, 500ml by 30pcs, will now be sold from retail trucks for GHC4.50. Mini-markets will now sell a bag of sachets for a minimum of GHC6 per bag.”

Their explanation was that increase in production costs, such as fuel, vehicle replacement parts, and packaging materials, all of which are mostly imported, justified the price hike.
