Primary school students beg government for money to reverse a curse their classmate place on them (watch video)
Belinda Akua Maafua, a pupil at St. Michael Roman Catholic Basic School, cursed both her teacher and her fellow students for laughing at her after she received a score of 2 on a piece of classwork.
She said that they should be ashamed of themselves.
It has been reported that the bizarre and ridiculous event, which is shrouded in superstition, took place in the Kwahu region of Ghana’s Eastern Region at a place called Akwasiho.
Belinda was made fun of because she had a low grade point average in her schoolwork, and as a form of retaliation, she enragedly invoked the spirit of the local deity as well as the spirit of the water to deal with those who made fun of her.
In the meantime, it appears that the curse is having an effect because two of the students have fallen ill. Belinda has reportedly been contacted by the parents of the children who are afflicted in an effort to assist them in lifting the curse before the situation becomes even more dire.
Reporters from Adom TV spoke with some of the students, and those students confirmed the findings of the report while pleading with the government to recognize the situation as a crisis and take prompt action in order to avert an imminent catastrophe.
