Popular musician Nhyiraba Kojo jailed for 30 days – See Details
Nhyiraba Kojo, a popular hiplife singer from Ghana, has been sentenced to 30 days in jail by the Sekondi Commercial High Court.
The court found him guilty of contempt in a lawsuit filed by three Fijai homeowners who complained about noise from his nightclub.
Kojo’s nightclub, which is located in the Fijai neighborhood, has been a source of controversy for some time now.
The homeowners claimed that the loud music from the nightclub was causing them to lose sleep and affecting their quality of life.
Despite several warnings from the authorities, Kojo continued to operate his nightclub without regard for the residents’ complaints.
This led to the homeowners filing a lawsuit against him, which ultimately resulted in his conviction for contempt of court.
Despite an interlocutory injunction order to reduce the noise, install soundproofing, and report back to the court, Kojo failed to comply, leading to his incarceration.
The homeowners behind the legal action were Edmund Sampana Dienorng, Nicholas Imbeah, and Samuel Kofi Dzukey.
