Police officer Arrested over parcels of hard drugs found in his car
Police from the Tesano-Accra Police Unit found ‘hard drugs’ in the car of one of their officers, who was taken to the hospital after a car crash. He is now being watched for possible detention.
The officer, 36-year-old G/Sergeant Lotsu Agbeko, was driving his personal Toyota Corolla to the Volta Region when he was directed to halt by the Have police barrier but did not heed.
His disregard for the warning resulted in a vigorous pursuit by the barrier officials which lead to him crashing his car. He fractured his left hand and sustained some minor injuries.
Following a vehicle inspection, 84 packets of substances believed to be Indian hemp were recovered in the trunk.
According to a report published by the Kpeve department on Tuesday, June 14, the suspect has been under observation since the event on Saturday, June 11 at around 12:30 p.m.
