Briamah Isaac Kamoko, called “Bukom Banku,” a Ghanaian professional boxer, was remanded into police prison for one week by an Accra Circuit Court on the accusation of aiding and abetting a crime.
He is accused of making a plan with Prosper Quaye to hurt Ismael Quaye in Bukom, a suburb in the Greater Accra Region.
The Ghanaian boxer appeared in the dock with his son, Mustapha Kamoko, who was also charged with causing damage.
Bukom Banku, 50, and his son Mustapha Kamoko have both entered not guilty pleas.
Meanwhile, their accomplice, 32-year-old unemployed Prosper Quaye, who is being jailed on the accusation of inflicting unauthorized damage, failed to appear in court for his plea to be taken.
As a result, the Court issued an arrest warrant for him.
Mr Godwin Amoah, counsel for the accused, informed the court that Prosper Quaye had arrived earlier but had told him that his stomach hurt and that he was going to buy some drugs.
Mr. Amoah requested bail for his clients, claiming that they were relatives and had individuals of substance to serve as sureties.
The prosecution was against bail because they had done something like this before and would get in the way of police investigations if they were set free.
As a result, the Court, presided over by Mrs Adelaide Abui Keddey, remanded them into police custody for seven days, with a reappearance scheduled for December 19, 2022.
