One man’s life has been revolutionized by the work of a fashion designer who took him from being an okada rider to a model of the highest caliber.
Sawali Nior, a Cameroonian fashion designer, was walking the streets of Doula when she came across a man who goes by the name Alber.
When Alber first crossed paths with Sawali Nior, he was making a living as a motor rider in the country, more commonly referred to as an Okada rider.
The designer and Alber became friends, and then the designer listened to Alber’s story, in which Alber revealed that he had moved from the village to the city in order to hustle in order to be able to take care of his mother and his other siblings.
Sawali was moved by Alber’s story, and as a result, he made the decision to use his connections to assist his newfound friend.
He pleaded with his business partners to help Alber become a model so that he can support himself and his family back in the village. As a result, they agreed to provide Alber with modeling lessons.
