Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, the founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International, has announced his plans to sue Nana Agradaa, a former fetish priestess turned evangelist. In a sermon at his church on Sunday, July 30, 2023, Owusu Bempah revealed that he, along with his family, church elders, and some pastors, will be taking Agradaa to court. The reasons for the lawsuit remain unclear.
Before disclosing the court case, Owusu Bempah shared how he had previously assisted Agradaa in her transition from fetish priestess to evangelist. He mentioned helping her during a conflict with New Patriotic Party member Kennedy Agyapong and also in her conversion to Christianity.
In June 2023, chaos erupted during a church service at Heaven Way Champion Ministries International, owned by Nana Agradaa. Manasseh De Game Changer, a junior pastor of Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, approached the front of the congregation to apologize to Agradaa for previous allegations made against her during a social media feud. However, his attempt was met with anger from both Agradaa’s followers and some of her junior pastors.
On Sunday, September 12, 2021, the Ghana Police Service arrested Rev. Owusu Bempah and four others for their involvement in the creation and circulation of threatening videos. The police also accused them of brandishing a weapon and assaulting police personnel who were injured and receiving medical treatment. Two additional suspects are currently on the run, with the police in pursuit.
Owusu Bempah’s arrest was connected to his public disagreements with Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, formerly known as Nana Agradaa. The two had engaged in a war of words on social media, with Agradaa referring to Owusu Bempah as a “useless prophet.”
