Gospel Singer Ohemaa Mercy reveals How Telling A Lie Almost Caused Her Her Life
Ohemaa Mercy in the latest interview has recounted her near-suicide experience during the early stage of her life while leaving in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua.
According to the award-winning musical, but for a Christian brother, she had stabbed herself to death after she got ‘busted’ for lying and taking money in the name of her landlady who was a prophetess.
“I was living with a prophetess landlady and I used her name to solicit for funds from her friend whilst she was unaware.” Ohemaa Mercy narrated in an interview with Pure FM. “I lied to the friend that my landlady was ejecting me from the house, but then I had a serious issue to settle and I didn’t know how to get the money but to lie at the expense of the prophetess.”
“One day, the woman I went to take the money from came for prayers from the prophetess and the whole truth began to unfold,” Ohemaa Mercy continued.
The ‘Asida’ singer revealed that she was later called in presence of elders and pastors of the church one Sunday afternoon and she was scolded for the lies that got her the money without the consent of the prophetess.
“At that time I wished the earth could swallow me whole. I run into my room and decided to stub myself to death. Though I could hear my child calling me, I didn’t mind because Satan is always stronger when he wants you to do things to hurt yourself,” Ohemaa Mercy confessed.
“God being so good, there was this brother who broke into the room to save me. I remember he told me that I shouldn’t kill myself, because this is not the end of my life and God has so much for me. I thank God for that particular brother that saved my life”.
