Nogokpo Shrine should give thanks to Archbishop Agyin Asare for making them popular – Abeiku Santana claims

Popular radio and TV presenter, Abeiku Santana commends Archbishop Charles Agyin Asare, the founder of Perez Chapel International, for shedding light on the Nogokpo community.

Santana believes that the clergyman’s efforts in improving the self-image and branding of the town have rendered a valuable service to its leaders and residents.

Prior to this, the community had been marred by misconceptions and deceit, which created a negative perception among people. However, the remarks made by Bishop Charles Agyin Asare during one of his church sermons sparked controversy and received criticism from a segment of the public.

Although the bishop did not intend to demean the people of the Volta Region, the spin and twist of his comments led the leaders of Nogokpo to seize the opportunity and use it to their advantage. They organized interviews and press conferences, effectively dispelling the misconceptions and rebranding the community.

Santana suggests that this strategy is similar to how foreign nationals travel to witness the Voodoo festival in Benin and other nations for branding and image-building purposes. In conclusion, the Archbishop’s remarks inadvertently helped promote the Nogokpo community.

“In branding and image building, foreign nationals travel to Benin and other nations to witness the Vodoo festival, so the leaders of Nogokpo took advantage of the remarks of the Archbishop to market their destination. it helped them to market the community”.
