Nigerian skit maker and comedian arrested for using tramadol.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) detained a skit maker, Sunday Joshua, also known on social media as De-General, yesterday during a search on a renowned drug joint in the Orchid Estate, Lekki region of Lagos State.

His arrest, however, provoked outrage among his friends, who claimed that the comic was set up and that his phone was smashed during his altercation with agents.

However, the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, said in a statement yesterday that narcotics investigators raided the drug joint in the estate, where three suspects were caught with illicit substances including 200 sachets of 225mg Tramadol and 1.5 kilos of cannabis Sativa.

Nigerian skit maker and comedian arrested for using tramadol.

He said that during the operation, some persons, including the suspected dealer, fled with bags suspected of containing exhibits.

A trial, according to Babafemi, revealed that they raced into a home located at 2B Saula Akinlolu street, Orchid Estate, which is the property of the 22-year-old Sunday Joshua (aka De General).

“The young men began to create commotion in order to avoid being searched.” Before entering, the operatives announced themselves as NDLEA officials and consented to be searched. This was done, and a search was carried out.

“The search resulted in the discovery of drug exhibits such as cannabis Sativa, Tramadol 225mg, and drug paraphernalia.” This came after the suspect requested that the search be videotaped, which the cops granted out of courtesy.

“The video that was popular on social media was the moment the suspect and his companions decided to derail the search of the residence.”

In his in-custody confessional statement, the suspect confirmed ownership of the substances discovered from his home,” the statement continued.

Meanwhile, prior to his arrest, the comedian was spotted live on Instagram confronting NDLEA officers at his home.

Amodu Ayodeji Peter, also known as Ayothecreator, his buddy, said that the comedian was set up since he does not use narcotics.

NDLEA, you know where the actual drug barons are in Lagos, yet you come into Degeneral house, attack and arrest him,” Peter said on Instagram. Have you ever seen him encourage drugs in his content? He does not take drugs, and whoever is to blame is being watched by God.

“I haven’t slept since 2:00 a.m. because they wouldn’t let us inside their station; please assist us honorable Nigerians; he is at the NDLEA headquarters in Festac.”

It breaks my heart to watch him in cuffs and being pummeled like a criminal.” No Nigerian should be subjected to this illegally.”

In response, social activist Debo Adedayo, also known as Mr. Macaroni, remarked, “We don’t even see most of the persecution and cruelty that Nigerian youngsters face.”

“We only see some because the individual is famous or has the bravery to shoot a video.” Many Nigerians have suffered severely for no reason.

Nigerian Police go do their own thing, EFCC go do their own thing, NDLEA go do their own thing, small-time now, e fit be Traffic warden wey come smash our door in the middle of the night to oppress and torment us.
