Virtuous Joy, a newlywed bride who is also a plus-sized woman, has taken to social media to share her story of overcoming hateful comments about her size.

The woman, who appeared ecstatic about her new status, talked about how her husband loves her for who she is, and how this has given her confidence in herself.

Joy posted this inspirational piece to her social media accounts.

She wrote;

I remember being so happy and excited about my wedding day and how beautiful I felt. When my husband first saw me in my wedding attire he couldn’t take his eyes off of me. He couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful and amazing I looked.. it was such a magical moment for the both of us.

Once we posted our pictures for our family and friends. So many people were so happy for us! Then there were those folks that wanted to let me know just how much a fat girl did not deserve this kind of happiness so they tried their hardest to take it away.

People will try to take away your joy. They will try to disturb your peace. They will do everything in their power to make you feel miserable and worthless. DO. NOT. LET. THEM! For so long I let people dictate my every move and decisions! I let what people thought or said about me effect how I viewed myself. At one point I felt like I didn’t deserve to feel beautiful. I didn’t deserve to be loved. I didn’t deserve to pursue my dreams. Oh, how wrong I was!

I’m so happy I’m constantly being reminded of who God says I am! I am fearfully and wonderfully made!

Sis, PURUSE YOUR DREAMS. WRITE THAT BOOK. START THAT BUSINESS and continue to know and remind yourself that you are loved, you are so important, you are BEAUTIFUL in so many ways, and you are needed!
